NAUTICA's UNIVERSE

About
Welcome to my world, I'm Nautica Walker, born and raised in Columbus, Georgia. My art is based on expression, how I feel, how someone makes me feel, energy in motion, personal writings I turn into paintings and my environment/ culture. My view-point on art as well as other cultures growing up was slim, I was raised in a small county, surrounded by southern African American culture, I had no influences in terms of art (painting, drawing, fashion and building), majority of my talents are self-learned, during my time in college is where I learned oil pastel and typography.
A deep dive into Nautica's world. Nauti's Universe is a creative portfolio showcasing my work while allowing beings to enter my inner world. Bringing together a collection of projects and capturing the essence of life. The portfolio reflects my imagination and craftsmanship, offering a glimpse into my universe. Please enjoy your exploration into my world as I continue to expand my universe.
the mission
2025 - Create, Expand, Connect
To show children they are love, they are loved. To show them how to express themselves safely/ creatively, that it is not them, it is the environment they are in.
2024 - To express. To have the ability to feel and translate those emotions onto any
canvas, piece of fabric, paper or digital screen. To also show people who are willing to learn, how to create using what they have. Growing up in communities where I didn't always have access to supplies, I learned how to make art I loved with little to nothing by upcycling, recycling and repurposing what I had. I want to teach people both children & adults how to do the same.
2023 - My mission is to have the ability to express my art exactly how I picture it, to constantly have the drive not only motivation, to express. To be around people and culture that influence me to work and build. Expression is Key

My Culture
I grew up in Georgia, around nature, where I learned to be still. I grew up in a place where the teachers, the store owners, and workers at every level looked just like me. My viewpoint was so limited that up until a certain age, I believed white people were only on television. I had no knowledge of the outside world; I had no real understanding of the hate or injustice we really received until later in life. This realization changed my view of the world where; I was taught to love and respect everyone regardless of race, gender, or identity; However, I have always taken being African American with pride and love because that's what connects me to my ancestors, my roots, my being.
